This article will examine two studies that explore attitudes toward group psychotherapy and what is behind those attitudes toward group.
Younger people had a more positive view of non-clinical groups, and females had more knowledge of and positive attitudes towards group psychotherapy than males.
It is also important to note that 73.4% of the sample thought psychotherapy in general is useful, while only 42.1% acknowledged the usefulness of group psychotherapy.
Furthermore, only half the sample reported even knowing what group psychotherapy is or involves.
